KnitWell Group Brands Provided Hundreds of Styles for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

Ahead of “The Devil wears Prada 2” premiere Monday night, one company will be on pins and needles to see what clothing is worn and shown in the movie.

During the filming of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” last summer, the KnitWell Group‘s portfolio of brands — which includes Talbots, Ann Taylor, Lane Bryant, Soma, among others — shipped hundreds of pieces to the film’s “Cerulean” named offices in Astoria, N.Y. From background styling moments to on-set wardrobe needs, the assortment became a resource for the costume team, ready at a moment’s notice, as any great fashion closet should be.

Talbots delivered polished, colorful suiting while Lane Bryant sent curve-loving, fit-obsessed office-to-weekend wear. Ann Taylor contributed its signature worker and social dresses, while Soma delivered sleek foundational intimates. Loft also sent dresses and denim essentials, White House Black Market delivered sharply tailored worker essentials, Chico’s sent bold statement jewelry, while Haven Well Within sent effortless loungewear.

Every type of wardrobe was represented, and the brands collectively spanned sizes from 2 petite to 20.

The film, which hits theaters on May 1, will have its world premiere Monday night at Lincoln Center. The sequel, which stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, follows these characters 20 years later. The red carpet will be livestreamed on Disney+ and Hulu at 5:30 ET.

The fun for KnitWell fans will be spotting which brand appears in the hallways of “Runway,” or even in the fashion editor’s “run-through” racks of fictional editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly’s office.
