Kirby is seemingly the next character in line to get the open-world treatment, after Nintendo’s Direct broadcast this week ended with Kirby and the World Beyond.
It seems this won’t be all for the pink puff in 2027. In case you missed it in the previous story, next year actually marks Kirby’s 35th anniversary. While the character might not be as old as Mario and Link, by the sounds of it, there’ll still be plenty of celebrations.
As announced by Nintendo’s Yoshiaki Koizumi at the very end of the latest showcase, there’ll be “more information coming in the future” about these anniversary celebrations. For now, here’s the official 35th anniversary logo:
Kirby’s new game is scheduled to launch exclusively for the Switch 2 in Spring 2027. In some other Kirby news, two more Kirby Air Riders amiibo have been announced and the same title is getting a new in-game event in the future.
