Kimora Lee Simmons and Betsey Johnson are joining forces for a spring 2026 campaign that brings together two recognizable Y2K-era names. Released on Friday ahead of Mother’s Day, the project uses fashion to explore legacy and the way style is carried from one generation to the next.

Shot with Kimora’s daughter, Ming Lee Simmons, the campaign places family at the center of the story. The campaign’s visual direction balances Betsey Johnson’s playful identity with a more polished, fashion-forward frame.

The photo shoot was designed to suggest that attitude, taste and confidence are not only taught, but inherited and reshaped over time, according to the brand.

“Trends come and go. Power doesn’t,” said Kimora about the campaign. “When people talk about Y2K, I always feel we have to remember the women who built something real, Betsey included. As someone who built her own path during the same Y2K era she helped define, I know firsthand what it means to create longevity in a space that moves so quickly, and that’s the reason people are still referencing it today.”

Messaging around the campaign includes lines such as “Iconic runs in the family” and “Don’t argue with mother,” reinforcing the generational angle without overcomplicating the idea. The concept is meant to appeal both to audiences who remember the original era and to younger viewers who are discovering it through today’s lens.
