Kim Kardashian Dons Ludovic de Saint Sernin At Skims Event In London

Congratulations are in order, as Kim Kardashian just launched a Skims flagship store in London. To celebrate, the reality television star held a party during London Fashion Week today.

Sticking to a formula, Kardashian dressed as she usually does in flattering neutral hues, clad in a tn Ludovic de Saint Sernin gown made to flatter her figure. The garment, titled the Mermaid Bi Dress, was form-fitted and crafted out of what appeared to be leather and a sheer stretch fabric. The bodice was structured with silver grommet trim, while the latter half of the gown down to the skirt was made of a sleek, stretchy material.

Said stretchy material was opaque around the waist and hips before transitioning into this gauzy sheer fabric that moved beautifully as Kardashian walked. More grommets lined the skirt diagonally, emphasizing that cut-out portion where the fabric sheered out. A lace-up closure was affixed to the “All’s Fair” actress’ hip, creating a corsetted effect. The gown was a mermaid style, meaning the skirt flared out, creating a mermaid tail look.

It was only fitting that Kardashian don a look from the designer brand, given that she will be launching a Skims collection with the founder Ludovic de Saint Sernin. The collection, which is set to release on Oct. 1, will be a limited-edition capsule that is said to mesh Skims’ signature shapewear pieces with Saint Sernin’s sensual aesthetics. “Our sensibilities are similar,” said Kardashian via Vogue. “The pieces we made are really classic and simple designs. It has the Ludovic sex element to it, mixed with the simplicity of Skims.”

Brussels-born de Saint Sernin launched his brand in Paris in 2017. Soon after launch, the designer quickly earned a reputation for such sensual gender-fluid designs. Before starting his own label, the designer honed his craft at Dior and Saint Laurent before moving to Balmain, working as an embellishment expert.

Kardashian’s partnership with de Saint Sernin makes sense, given she wore Balmain often back in the day. In fact, it was almost impossible to see the social media star in anything but Olivier Rousteing’s designs for the French fashion house. Kardashian has also worn de Saint Sernin’s looks on multiple occasions, from halter-style dresses to lace-up leather gowns.
