Jharkhand batter Shikhar Mohan in India A squad for last two four-dayers against New Zealand A

Shikhar Mohan, the 21-year-old Jharkhand left-hand batter, has been called up to the India A squad following a string of impressive performances in India’s domestic circuit.
Mohan will link up with the India A squad for the second and third four-day matches against New Zealand A in the three-match tour, which will run concurrently with the senior team’s white-ball series against New Zealand and end before New Zealand and India play a two-Test series.
After a good Ranji Trophy 2025-26, where he scored 613 runs, including a double-century, in 12 innings, Mohan has started the current season well too, hitting 297 runs in two games at an average of 99.00: he has scores of 143 (vs Kerala) and 27 and 127 (vs Maharashtra) this season so far.

Outside of the Ranji Trophy, Mohan also did well in the Duleep Trophy final in September, scoring half-centuries in both innings for East Zone against South Zone and, in October, hit 60 in the first innings for Rest of India against Jammu & Kashmir in the Irani Cup.

India A’s first four-day match against New Zealand A will begin on October 26 in Lincoln, and will be followed by games in Christchurch and again in Lincoln. The New Zealand vs India Test series will begin on November 19.
