As for Bulger, he eventually fell back from playing the game competitively, after never reaching the heights Allen had and never playing at the US National Championships. But he really loved the game, and he loved the family aspect of it: it was a game that kids could play with their parents, where the injury risk was low, particularly compared with football. Although the usual path to learning curling, especially for Canadians, is through either a school program or a junior program at their local curling club, because their parents play, Bulger thought starting a club somewhere that knows nothing about curling, like Nashville, might be prohibitive. And so Tee Line was born, after Bulger saw what Topgolf had done for the game of golf and Brooklyn Bowl had done for bowling. He thought this approach could easily work for curling too.
