Iran War Energy Shock Pushes Turkey Inflation Higher in April


Turkish policymakers had earlier warned investors about price pressures for April and May. Accordingly, the central bank, led by Governor Fatih Karahan, held off on further rate cuts last month for a second meeting in a row. The monetary authority cited geopolitical “uncertainties” and volatile energy prices driven by the conflict in the Middle East.
