Toss Rajasthan Royals opt to bowl vs Lucknow Super Giants

Rajasthan Royals’ stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal opted to bowl against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur, expecting the dew to set in later in the evening. RR’s regular captain Riyan Parag missed out with a hamstring injury, but was part of the Impact Subs bench although Vaibhav Sooryanavshi is the likeliest to come in when RR chase.

“It means a lot to me and proud to represent the Rajasthan Royals franchise,” Jaiswal said at the toss.

Ravindra Jadeja missed another game as he is nursing elbow and knee issues. The left-arm spin- bowling allrounder is also absent from India’s Test squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan.

RR made three changes, bringing in Sandeep Sharma, Sushant Mishra and Luhan-dre Pretorius. Apart from Parag, Ravi Singh and Adam Milne missed out for the hosts. This is Mishra’s first game in the IPL. Since the start of IPL 2025, RR have won just one game in eight attempts in Jaipur. They are now locked in a five-way battle for qualification for the playoffs. As for LSG, they are out of contention for the playoffs.

Markram will also be unavailable for LSG’s final game of the season. They picked just three overseas players in their XI on the day, with mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi likely to come in as their Impact Player when they bowl later in the evening.
