Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and chose to bat against India in their Asia Cup match in Dubai. They have previous success in putting up a total and successfully defending it, having beaten Thailand in their first match of this tournament.

Harmanpreet Kaur, who became the first player in men’s and women’s cricket to lead their side in 150 T20Is, was perfectly happy chasing. India have already qualified for the semi-finals on the back of two wins in two games. They go into this one with an unchanged XI.

Although there is always hype when India and Pakistan face each other, there is virtually no stake in this game. Pakistan will reach the semi-final if they win on Saturday. But even if they lose, they have a game in hand against Hong Kong.

Both Sana and Harmanpreet talked up their bowling attacks, which have enjoyed the slow, low and spinning conditions in Dubai. Pakistan beat Thailand despite only putting up 119 for 9 earlier in the tournament, and India were able to brush them off despite a middle-order collapse.
