The iO5 sits in the middle of Oral-B’s iO lineup and gives you a plethora of modes and settings to get a deep clean. There are five cleaning modes as well as settings for sensitive teeth, gum care and deep cleaning. The round brush uses Oral-B’s oscillating-rotating cleaning system alongside micro-vibrations. Meanwhile, a pressure sensor tells you when you’re applying the right amount of force. That last feature is particularly useful if you’re prone to brushing too aggressively.

The iO5 is a fully connected toothbrush that pairs up with a companion app for guided brushing, as well as a two-minute timer. The battery is, of course, rechargeable. What I like about this deal is that it includes three replacement brush heads. That’s usually an added cost, and it means that you should be able to get a few months of use before having to make any additional purchases. Similarly, if you find yourself on-the-go often enough, the included travel case is a nice to have.

If this is your first foray into the world of electric toothbrushes, the $99 price point makes the Oral-B iO5 an excellent choice. Even if you don’t care about an app, the pressure sensor, timer and multiple cleaning modes are a big upgrade over basic models.
