How to Watch the Apple September Event (2026)

Another Apple event is almost here, though this one will likely feel a little different than the September events of lore. It’s the first Apple event since CEO Tim Cook’s departure, and might be the first time the public gets a taste of how the company’s new CEO, John Ternus, can slip into those shoes.

The event will be livestreamed on September 9 at 10 am Pacific (1 pm Eastern). You can watch the stream right here on this page, or on Apple’s website and YouTube channel. Apple will also stream the event on its Apple TV devices and Apple TV+ streaming service. Leaks and rumors have left just about everyone expecting news about Pro-level iPhones and a long-awaited Apple foldable device.

Since the Covid pandemic, Apple has eschewed live presentations, instead inviting media and employees to the Apple campus to watch prerecorded videos of all its product announcements. WIRED will have reporters on the ground—you can follow along with all the action on our live blog, which will go live the morning of the event. WIRED will also have a roundup of everything the company announces for your perusal right after the event.

What to Expect

Thanks to leaks from sources like Bloomberg, the event is widely expected to be the moment Apple finally announces its long-rumored foldable iPhone. It’s bound to be pricey, with rumored estimates sitting around $2,000.

Apple is also expected to focus on premium products, chiefly the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12, and Apple Watch Ultra 4. That means Apple may push the launch of its base iPhone 18 to the spring of 2027. The move likely stems from increased manufacturing costs and limited product availability due to the ongoing memory crisis. It’s also an effort to build hype for Apple’s more premium—and expensive—products, and maybe entice customers to sign up for the company’s new iPhone leasing program. We’ll likely see the mid-tier iPhone 18e at that spring event, alongside a second-gen iPhone Air.

New AirPods may also be on the table, though Apple’s heavily rumored AirPods Pro with cameras—designed to be the “eyes” of Siri for AI-powered visual assistance—could be delayed to later this year or to 2027.

If you’re hoping for new iPads, Macs, or home devices, well, you may have to wait a little longer. Apple announced a new Mac Mini and Mac Studio at the end of August, but the company may debut new home products, a new iPad Mini, and new MacBooks during events in October.

As for snagging devices right after Apple announces them this week, unconfirmed reports suggest the company will open iPhone preorders on September 12, a day later than it usually offers them, out of respect for the victims of 9/11. The following week is likely when the company will drop the final, official versions of its software, like iOS 27 and macOS 27.
