How to cheer up your Miis in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

Your Miis will get depressed if they get rejected in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and while they’re in this state, they won’t do much outside of sadly sitting around. You’ll, of course, want to cheer them up and return them to their normal selves quickly, but there isn’t an exact hint on how to fix this.

When your Mii gets depressed, their happiness bar will get replaced by a sadness bar, turning blue. You’ll need to deplete this bar completely to get them back to normal. The ideal method for cheering up your Mii is not too different from the last entry in the series, Tomodachi Life for the Nintendo 3DS, but how you go about getting the required items is different in this game.

Below we explain the fastest method to cheer up your Miis in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.

How to cheer up your Miis in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

The fastest way to cheer up your Mii is to gift them a travel ticket. You can buy these from the wishing fountain, for one wish each. The travel ticket portion of the wishing fountain unlocks after you spend 10 wishes total. After this, new locations to send your Miis will unlock every five wishes spent.

Once you buy the ticket, you’ll be asked right away who to give it to. You can select whichever Mii and then watch them enjoy their vacation. Doing this will fully deplete their sadness bar, returning them to normal.

If you don’t have wishes to spend, there are a few other things you can do to slowly deplete that sadness bar, though it’ll take longer:

  • Gift them items, like food, treasures, outfits, and apartment designs. Giving them items you know they like will deplete the sadness bar faster, but that can be hard to do early on in the game when you don’t know much about your Miis yet.
  • When they’re outdoors, drag a friend over to them to cheer them up. This doesn’t always work, as sometimes the Miis will just be too sad to laugh at whatever silly joke their friend is trying to say.

This being said, you can avoid Miis getting depressed all together by squashing any crushes they develop on characters that you don’t want them to end up with early on. For example, if you don’t want Bowser to end up with Peach, but he develops a crush on her, you can tell him to cut it out as soon as the crush develops. This way, you can avoid his inevitable depression when you try to pair up Peach with Mario down the line.
