Hot Pink Under Armour Sneakers

Bold, confident and full of energy, Under Armour athlete Sharon Lokedi will have a lot of eyes on her Monday as she looks to repeat her 2025 Boston Marathon win wearing her own exclusive UA Velociti Elite 3 running shoe in hot pink.

The Elite 3 is the same shoe Lokedi wore when she won and broke last year’s race record with a time of 2:17:22. She is this year’s favorite to win the race again.

“In dreaming up my return to Boston, the Under Armour team opened the door to my thoughts on shoe design. Being part of the process from start to finish on the Velociti Elite 3, from the testing to the color, was so fun! With our uniforms being a bit more subtle, I wanted pops of color on my feet. I cannot wait to race in them on Monday,” Lokedi said.

The colorway, created in close collaboration with the Kenyan athlete and the UA product team, was designed to feel like a personal “superpower” on race day, the company said. The shoe’s exclusive color will be available in limited supply for purchase at Dick’s House of Sport on Boylston St. beginning on Saturday.

“From the start, this colorway was about designing with Sharon, not just for her. She has such a clear sense of how she wants to feel on race day, and our role was to translate that into something that matches her confidence, energy, and performance needs,” said Jonathan Hutnyan, UA’s senior product line manager of performance run footwear. “Knowing she’ll race Boston in this color way, and that it’s the same platform she’s already made history in, makes it incredibly meaningful for our team.”

The Boston Marathon was organized by the Boston Athletic Association in 1897 and is the world’s oldest annual marathon.

The Velociti Elite 3 was built to win marathons. In the latest edition, UA incorporated a durable rubber outsole that provides race-day traction without adding weight.

Lokedi also wore her Velociti Elite 3 running shoe for the 2025 New York City Marathon where she placed second.

In the most recent third quarter, the Baltimore-bases sports brand posted adjusted diluted earnings per share (EPS) of 9 cents, which was better than Wall Street’s consensus estimate of a 2-cent loss per share. The better-than-expected EPS could be a sign that the sports firm is on the “right track.”

UA has also been changing things up a bit. It’s new ’90s-inspired sneaker, the Arc 96, has the same tech as the brand’s high-end running shoes, such as the responsive Hovr cushioning midsole.
