Hilton Cartwright: Hampshire sign Australian all-rounder for T20 Blast

Hampshire have signed Australian all-rounder Hilton Cartwright on a deal that will see him play for the Hawks in this year’s T20 Blast.

The 33-year-old was at the county in 2025 to reinforce the white-ball squad following a number of international call-ups and scored 213 runs.

He has played four times for Australia in 2017 across Tests and ODIs.

“I’m delighted to be back with the Hawks for another season,” Cartwright said. “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club last summer.

“Although we missed out on the title, to reach Finals Day more times than any other county is a special feat, and hopefully we can go one step further this time around.”

Cartwright has previously featured in the Blast for Middlesex in 2018 and Derbyshire in 2022.

He plays for Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL) and was part of the squad that made the knockout stage of this winter’s competition, scoring 93 runs.

“Having Hilton available for the whole tournament is a huge plus for us,” said Giles White, director of cricket.

“He showed last summer that he can clear the ropes in match-defining innings, and we’re looking forward to seeing him bring that same impact to the Utilita again this summer.”
