Habs move on to 2nd round after Game 7 win against the Lightning

The Montreal Canadiens are heading to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in Game 7 on Sunday night.

Alex Newhook scored the game-winning goal at the 11:07 mark of the third period. Captain Nick Suzuki scored the game’s opening goal.

The Canadiens won the game despite being outshot 29-9.

The Habs will face off against the Buffalo Sabres in the second round of the playoffs.

Game 1 will take place Wednesday in Buffalo.
