A new report suggests that GTA 6 will release on PC in “Q1 2027”. That, at least, is what GamesBeat is saying, citing “sources familiar with the matter.”
This means that, if the publication’s information is correct, we’ll see the PC release of Grand Theft Auto 6 land in the first three months of the year. “GamesBeat has confirmed that Rockstar plans to release the PC version of GTA VI in the first quarter of 2027, according to four industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans, all of whom requested anonymity to avoid damaging business relationships,” says the report. “A Rockstar Games representative did not respond to a request for comment prior to the publication of this article.”

That means GTA 6 would enjoy anywhere between two-to-five months’ worth of console exclusivity: it’s launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19th November. We had a tease of the official PC version of the game from Strauss Zelnick earlier this year; the Take-Two boss noted that whilst the company tends not to “go across all platforms simultaneously”, he was aware of the hunger for the game on non-console platforms.
This gap marks quite a small margin between one release and the other, however: GTA 5 released in September 2013 while the PC version (after initially aiming for simultaneous release) was delayed until April 2015. Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on 26th October, 2018 for consoles, but then came to PC over a year later (5th November, 2019). Rockstar has not, of course, confirmed this PC release date is real, so take all this with a pinch of salt for now.
