GTA 6 Leaks Could Be Part of a Big Crypto Scheme

Rockstar has been hard at work trying to take down everything that “Cyberleek”, the hacker (or hackers) behind the recent GTA 6 leaks, puts out to the public, but they have a lot of backup accounts, so more leaks have continued to surface. In their posts, the leaker has been promoting $CYBERLEEK, a meme coin they created. This has allowed internet sleuths to gather information, and they have uncovered concerning motives for this leaking rampage.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 leaker has been the talk of the town in the gaming community. This mysterious entity was allegedly able to obtain an early build of the game and has been sharing footage on the internet for the past few days. This has provided fans with key details about the world as well as information on gameplay systems and mechanics. While some fans are happy to take a peek at any juicy, early-access info that comes their way, others don’t share the same opinion.

Cyberleek has justified its work as a Robin Hood-style reaction to Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive’s policies: in particular, the decision to not have a physical version of GTA 6 available at launch, the high price of the game, and having the most recent trailer debut on Netflix. However, some fans have called out Cyberleek’s claims as “virtue signaling,” trying to expose the ulterior motives behind the leaks.

Vice Cit, a user on GTAForums, has extensively investigated the $CYBERLEEK coin and dug up some interesting facts about the leaker that point towards this being a long con that will allow them to get thousands of dollars out of fans’ pockets. Vice Cit claims that Cyberleek invested $29,000 to create their digital coin and its website. On Solana, they earn money through $CYBERLEEK trading fees, which are charged whenever someone buys or sells the coin. According to Vice Cit, Cyberleek’s investment paid off on the first day that the leaks went live; they surpassed $30,000 in trading fees within 24 hours.

On top of this, it seems that when the one billion $CYBERLEEK coins were created, 270 million were sent to a private wallet on the notoriously sketchy KuCoin platform. It is believed that the coins went to Cyberleek’s private wallet so they could continue to sell them slowly as their value increased. Vice Cit fears that before the leaker gets caught, they will put out a final, shocking leak that’ll drive up the coin’s value, and then they’ll sell their 270 million coins to greatly boost their earnings, as they are worth about $391,000.

Rockstar received some backlash when it announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 would not be available in physical format. Cyberleek has always claimed that this was their motivation when posting GTA 6 leaks; they wanted to threaten Rockstar in order to force them to make a physical version of the game. However, as new allegations and evidence slowly surface, the matter keeps getting more complex. If this was truly a crypto-based plan to earn money, the question remains: How were the leakers able to get access to the most exclusive and well-guarded game of the past decade? Rockstar and Take-Two will have to find an answer soon.

It is true that we do not know what is in the deal withthe Trump administration or even if there is a deal. But we cannot wait until it is too late to express our concerns. While I understand why the government does not want to negotiate in public, we have no idea what if any bottom lines our negotiators have or what they believe success looks like. Instead what we know is that a trail of concessions brought us to this point and a deal will mean more concessions and all evidence suggests that tariffs are here to stay. If the government uses the standard that we want tariffs lower than other countries it has set a very low bar given that our economic relationship with the US and the implications of the tariffs are not like other countries.
