Toronto police say they are investigating after a six-year-old girl fell to her death from a North York apartment building Sunday evening.

Officers were called to the approximately 30-storey building near Chalkfarm Drive and Jane Street around 8:15 p.m., Toronto police said in a post on X. There, officers located a six-year-old girl, already deceased, who the said had fallen from her bedroom window.

Police did not confirm what floor the child fell from, but spokesperson Amy Davey said in an email it was from “a very high level.”

Police were still on the scene Monday morning, Davey said.

It does not appear to be suspicious, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.

Officers would remain at the scene pending an autopsy report, Toronto police said on X.
