WINNIPEG — Mounties say a former Manitoba member of Parliament is facing several gun offences after 439 firearms were seized from a home in Dauphin, Man.

Inky Mark, 78, faces a dozen charges, including firearms trafficking.

Police say they began investigating in March after another man from Dauphin, who is 73, was charged with firearms offences in the U.S.

Search warrants were executed last week at the Manitoba home, where officers also seized an antique cannon and $300,000 in cash.

Mark was elected under the Reform Party in Dauphin-Swan River-Marquette in 1997 and didn’t seek re-election as a Conservative MP in 2010.

He has been released from custody.
