Europe Needs Clarity from US, Top German Defense Official Says


Responding to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s jabs at Europe during his speech at the event, Breuer said he was “leaning a little bit back” because Germany has undertaken an “enormous” defense spending ramp-up, paired with a commitment to meet NATO’s 3.5% spending goal for defense as early as 2029, six years sooner than agreed.
