Elizabeth Olsen Repeats Givenchy’s Bow Mules in Paris

Elizabeth Olsen returned to a shoe already in her Sarah Burton-era Givenchy rotation on Friday in Paris, wearing black Boudoir Bow heels to the house’s fall 2026 presentation at Hôtel des Invalides.

The black leather mule featured a squared open toe and a broad ruched vamp pulled into a compact bow, with one side rising higher along the outer edge. A slim stiletto heel lifted the back, while a pyramid-style pale heel tip cut through the otherwise all-black finish.

Olsen paired the shoes with a cropped gray blazer cut with strong shoulders and pushed-up sleeves, left open over a black bra, along with black leather joggers with elasticized ankles. She kept her accessories minimal, opting for a cuff bracelet, a couple delicate rings and a black Givenchy Pinch bag.

The appearance marked a return to a silhouette Olsen had already worn in November 2025, when she chose a closed black Boudoir Bow mule for the New York premiere of “Eternity.” Her front row pair also landed inside a broader celebrity bow-shoe run. Harry Styles wore Dior bow-detail mule ballet flats at the Grammys at the beginning of February, while Lily Allen turned up to a Valentino Beauty event in London in satin Yolande mules topped with an oversize double bow later that month. Olsen’s Givenchy version pushed the idea in a darker, more directional place: less sweet, more twisted and compressed.

That tracked with Burton’s own message for fall. In his WWD review of the show, Miles Socha wrote that the designer “opened the aperture even wider” at Givenchy, mixing menswear fabrics, velvet, lace and animal motifs while building the collection around the complexity of womanhood. Olsen’s look did not mirror the runway literally, but the tension was there: strict tailoring up top, softened distortion at the shoe. She took in the show alongside other front-row guests including Rooney Mara, Diane Kruger and Alexa Chung, among others.
