€-coin increases slightly in April


  • €-coin stood at a slightly higher level in April than in the previous month (0.52 from 0.48).

  • The indicator reflects stronger industrial orders and the improvement in some demand indicators, despite a deterioration in business and household confidence.

  • The -coin indicator developed by Banca d’Italia provides a summary index of the current economic situation in the euro area. The indicator is an estimate of quarterly GDP growth shorn of the most erratic components (seasonal variations, measurement errors and short-run volatility). €-coin is published monthly by Banca d’Italia and CEPR.

  • The next publication dates for €-coin are Thursday, 4 June and Thursday, 2 July (to be confirmed).
