Denver Nuggets have strengthened Nikola Jokic‘s supporting cast by signing six-time NBA All-Star DeMar DeRozan to a one-year deal.
The move comes just two days after the Nuggets sent Peyton Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of a five-team trade.

DeRozan featured in 77 games for the Sacramento Kings last season, averaging 18.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 49.7% from the field.
It was the first time since the 2012-13 season that the 37-year-old had averaged fewer than 20 points per game. However, his experience and consistency could make him a valuable addition to Denver’s roster.
DeRozan ranks 18th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list and has played at least 74 games in each of the last five seasons.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Charania reported:
“BREAKING: Six-time NBA All-Star DeMar DeRozan has agreed to sign with the Denver Nuggets on a one-year, $3.9 million deal, sources tell ESPN.”
DeRozan became an unrestricted free agent after the Kings waived him in July. Only $10 million of his $25.7 million contract for the upcoming season was guaranteed, allowing Sacramento to move on from the veteran.
Several teams, including the Miami Heat and Washington Wizards, were reportedly interested in DeRozan. However, the Nuggets were among the front-runners from the beginning and have now added another experienced scorer to their attack.
