Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Teaser Features Cyberpunk 2077 Locations

The first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 teaser is here, and fans have already found some of the locations the new season pulled from Cyberpunk 2077.

Netflix, CD Projekt Red, and Studio Trigger returned with a minute-and-a-half teaser for Season 2 of its anime adaptation today. As if there was ever any doubt, it’s a brutal trailer, using Rico Nasty’s “You Can’t Run From Me” to show how characters like Weak Kingsley, D, Roman Carax, and Talia Yang will tear back into Night City.

Despite offering such a small slice of the 10 episodes set to premiere this fall, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has already given fans a lot to sink their teeth into. Watchers have been so starved for updates that some Cyberpunk 2077 players have already loaded back into Night City to find where some of the show’s scenes will take place.

X user @K_a_l_e_n_k_o compiled just a few shots from the trailer that players can find in CD Projekt Red’s 2020 RPG. The first shows an image of young cinephile Roman, who appears to be standing on a bridge above the Riot nightclub between Watson and City Center.

Another aerial shot overlooks the Afterlife, a bar that will be familiar even to players who only spent a few hours in Cyberpunk 2077. It’s one particularly important location in game protagonist V’s story, so it makes sense that Studio Trigger would reimagine it for its anime version of Night City.

Another location highlight from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 teaser, one that is a bit more difficult to spot, seems to be set right by the Deravaja Dojo in Little China. A stunned D can be seen standing here for just a few moments.

Meanwhile, in a separate GIF posted ahead of the teaser release, Talia can be seen waving to a group of Maelstrom goons in a construction site next to the Arasaka Industrial Park. Kalenko shared side-by-side images for these Cyberpunk 2077 locations, too. Some fans also pointed out that this is the same area where V and Takemura meet for a stakeout in the Gimme Danger mission.

“The way this anime is so f**king game location accurate makes my heart burst of joy,” one X user said.

“Such a small detail but the adverts in the anime being the same as the adverts in the game really shows they care,” another said.

This level of attention to detail is nothing new for Studio Trigger. Since Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 1 premiered in 2022, fans have celebrated its frequent use of in-game locations that players can visit to relive moments from the show. CD Projekt Red even returned the favor by adding a few nods to the original Edgerunners crew with updates for Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is currently set to premiere on Netflix this fall. Fans will no doubt continue to compare every sidewalk and skyscraper to the ones featured in the game it’s based on. While we wait, additional details about its new characters can be found here. You can also read about how Season 1 nearly had an even sadder ending than the one it got.
