Commando, which is known for its cutting-edge essentials and luxury technical ready-to-wear designs, has opened its first Bodysuit Bar on the contemporary floor of Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship. The bar will remain in place until Nov. 2 or 3.
The Bodysuit Bar marks nearly two decades of partnership between Commando and Saks Fifth Avenue. The brand’s bodysuits have become a cornerstone of its rtw offering. Their design enables them to move from foundational layering pieces to stand-alone wardrobe staples.
“We are so thrilled to be relaunching our first ‘Bodysuit Bar’ at Saks. Our bodysuit category has seen tremendous growth and really encapsulates our ethos of creating luxury-technical basics that women will reach for again and again. We have had a great partnership with Saks over the years and are excited to continue to evolve our businesses together,” said Kerry O’Brien, founder, designer and chief executive officer of Commando.
The pop-up features a selection of Commando’s bestselling bodysuits across the Ballet Body, Classic Microfiber, Neoprene and Pima collections, as well as the brand’s new Ultimate Cotton collection. Made from luxurious 100 percent Italian cotton, the Ultimate Cotton bodysuits offer a soft hand, subtle natural luster, and structured drape designed to hold their shape and color.
Commando’s bodysuits have been seen on such celebrities as Dakota Johnson, Olivia Munn, Bella Hadid, and Issa Rae.
Based on the success of the Bodysuit Bar, Commando is in talks with Saks to roll it out to other units.
