Closer To The Slopes: United Airlines Unveils New Ski Season Special Livery On An Embraer E175

United Airlines has debuted an exciting new mountain livery as the airline celebrates being the largest US carrier with nonstop flights to ski and snow destinations. The airline is also the proud official sponsor for US Ski & Snowboard, and supports athletes as they train and compete around the world.

This winter, United celebrates operating even more nonstop ski destination flights, including the airline launching its first-ever nonstop service from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Jackson Hole (JAC), Wyoming. This service will operate seasonally from February 13 through March 20.

United’s exciting Mountain Ascent livery has been painted onto one of United’s Embraer E175 aircraft, with a unique perspective on the mountainous tundra. The livery stretches across the rear half of the fuselage and features trees, fields, and mountains while also complementing the usual United livery. The aircraft bears registration N6455Y.

As United flies to Jackson Hole, these services will be operated by the airline’s Boeing 737-700 and depart once weekly on Saturdays. Travelers from Boston can enjoy a complimentary lift ticket on the day of arrival when providing proof of flight, including equipment demo packages from Jackson Hole Sports in Teton Village.

United’s service from Boston to Jackson Hole marks the airline’s eighth nonstop route to the popular ski resort this coming winter. Senator Mike Gierau shared his excitement in a statement to Boston.com:

“The JH AIR Board is excited to announce new nonstop winter 2026-27 service between Boston and Jackson. We have always punched above our weight in attracting Boston skiers. Our destination and ski terrain are a strong fit for this market, and a nonstop flight will make many returning skiers very happy.”

Through the airline’s partnership with US Ski & Snow, the official airline supports transporting athletes from ten snowsport disciplines across the world for training and competition. Members of MileagePlus and US Ski & Snowboard Insider are able to access unique discounts, including up to 5% off standard economy fares.

Supporting the national governing body of climate goals, alongside the HERoic initiative, which is about empowering women in skiing and snowboarding, sees United as a select partner for several World Cup events.

United passengers can check a piece of ski or snowboard equipment as part of their baggage allowance without concern for oversize or extra charges.

According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Denver remains the airport’s busiest route, with the total number of passengers between February 2025 and January 2026 surpassing 157,000, a route only operated by United. The second most popular route is to Salt Lake City, dominated by Delta, with more than 100,000 passengers passing through in the same time period. Dallas/Fort Worth is the third busiest, operated only by American and recording 80,000 passengers annually.

The largest airline at Jackson Hole is United, with a 40% market share over the same period and total passenger numbers reaching 460,000. This is almost double that of its closest competitor, American, with 265,000 passengers or a 23% market share. Delta sits at 19% with 218,000 annual passengers.

Jackson Hole has eleven hard-stand gates, and the airport does not have any jet bridges, meaning passengers board the aircraft via ramps. At the entrance of the airport, there is an altar arch, symbolic to that found in the town square. This coming winter, passengers from New England will celebrate the only nonstop service from Boston to Jackson Hole, winging snow seekers with even more choice this winter.
