Champions League recap: Man United, Bayern Munich coast to big wins


THE CHAMPIONS!

The opening week of the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League wrapped up Thursday, with the final six matches of Matchday 1 taking place.

In the early action, Fenerbahçe and AS Roma battled to a 1-1 draw, and PSV vs. Shakhtar Donetsk ended with the same scoreline after United States star Sergiño Dest leveled for the Dutch side.

Then, Como defeated RB Leipzig 4-1 in a sparkling debut in European competitions for the Italian side, Bayern Munich put five past Bodø/Glimt after stiff resistance to start, Manchester United eased to a 4-0 win over Sabah and 10-man Slavia Prague fell 3-2 to Lens.
