Cathie from Canada: Zingers – from Carney, from Jeremy Hansen, from Calgarians, from Charlotte Clymer, from King Charles, from Gavin Newsom, and the 8647 meme

The news today was pretty grim – Iran War blockages until summer so the world economy is toast. But there were some pretty good “zingers” today too!

Carney in the House
“a premier who picks up my phone call” Ouch!

Pierre Poilievre: This Liberal PM has been wrong about every major economic issue of the last decade

Mark Carney: Wrong on crypto, wrong on Brexit … You know what this government is right on? Cooperative federalism. It’s about working with Ontario — a Premier that picks up my phone call

– Scott Robertson

Speaker to Pierre Poilievre: Time’s up…

“Your time is up, Pierre.”

Mark Carney: Mr. Speaker, I won’t go there

Jeremy Hansen on Colbert

A Calgary zinger

Charlotte Clymer on LIV golf

Say what you will about the pro golfers who joined the LIV Golf Tour and are now screwed over after Saudi Arabia is withdrawing funding, but make sure you say it loud enough for the rest of us to hear and enjoy.

Trolling Trump
In her post about April 28, Heather Cox Richardson described Trump as “desperate to demonstrate dominance”.

But the Royal Visit isn’t going to be a win for him.

Does anyone else still remember those hilarious British Carry On movies?

I thought these were good too:

Then there was Charles’ “bellringer” gift to Trump.

Did you hear the news that Trump wants his picture on US passports now? Gavin Newsom immediately stepped up:

Achievement Troll Level: Grand Master

8647 has become a meme
I have always called Trump’s presidency “Trump II: The Revenge Tour” because one of his main goals in becoming president again was to take revenge on everyone he hates. So now the Trump DOJ is trying again to prosecute former FBI director James Comey. This time they picked an old social media post from Comey that everyone had forgotten all about because he deleted it two hours after he posted it:

The Trump DOJ reportedly indicted former FBI Director James Comey over his social media post featuring seashells forming the number “8647.”

See Popehat’s article here for all the background.
Now I’m seeing lots of of new posts and pictures on social media that have turned 8647 into a new meme.
Plus creating zingers with seashells.
Somehow, I don’t think laughing at Trump was what the DOJ had in mind….
