Caroline Elliott on why B.C. Conservatives must embrace cultural politics


There’s been a fascinating shift in the political landscape in British Columbia, and the BC Conservative Party leadership race comes at a pivotal moment. The campaign of Caroline Elliot has recruited some Canadian political heavy-hitters and drawn a considerable amount of national interest, as well. In this interview with Rob Breakenridge, Elliott talks about her candidacy, the emergence and future of the B.C. Conservative Party, and the “critical juncture” B.C. faces after years of NDP rule. Elliot also explains her philosophy of conservatism and why conservatives should be willing to tackle cultural issues as well as fiscal and economic issues.
