Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is getting an open beta at the end of this month, and all platforms (including Switch 2) are invited.
Activision and Infinity Ward have now provided an update, announcing the beta will also allow players to experience a campaign mission. Players will have access to the “Entrenched” mission, which can be seen in the trailer above.
The open beta will get underway on 28th August 2026 and runs until 1st September 2026. This will apparently be the first time a Call of Duty beta has given players access to a campaign mission.

So, you’ll be able to not only get a feel for how the multiplayer experience is, but also see how the blockbuster single-player experience holds up on Nintendo’s new hybrid system.
Activision will also be hosting an “Early Access” beta, but as you can see in the graphic above, Switch 2 users are not included in this. You can find out more details about this upcoming beta in our previous coverage.
More “first look” Call of Duty campaign mission trailers can be viewed on the official Call of Duty YouTube page.
