Burnham Walks Back Suggestion He’ll Lift UK Income Tax Threshold


Burnham suggested earlier this week that he could raise the £12,570 ($17,000) threshold at which individuals start paying income tax, effectively giving millions of workers a tax cut. But the government isn’t considering any changes to the so-called personal allowance as part of Burnham’s initial plan to tackle the cost of living, according to people familiar with the matter who asked not to be named while discussing policy deliberations.
