Bonpoint x MoMA Capsule Collection Celebrates Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’

LILY PAD: Bonpoint is teaming with the Museum of Modern Art, or MoMA, in New York City on a capsule collection celebrating one of its most beloved paintings: Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies.”

The French luxury children’s apparel brand has created 16 pieces for children aged from 6 months to 14 years. The limited-edition capsule, which marks its first collaboration with a museum, will launch Oct. 5 exclusively on bonpoint.com and in a selection of Bonpoint boutiques worldwide, to be followed by the U.S. on Oct. 9.

Consisting of three designs for babies and seven ready-to-wear items for girls, alongside accessories, it will be priced from 30 euros for a hairclip to 365 euros for the label’s signature smocked and hand-embroidered Duchess dress, rendered in the hues of the painting.

“MoMA is committed to creating meaningful and unexpected ways for audiences to connect with extraordinary works of art in our capsule,” says Jesse Goldstine, chief retail officer at MoMA.

“Through this collaboration with Bonpoint, Claude Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’ becomes a new point of discovery for children and families, extending the experience of the painting beyond the museum and into everyday life,” he added.

The capsule is completed by Bonpoint’s signature Cherry Doll, wearing a miniature version of the Duchess dress, and a suitcase bag in matching colors.

“For nearly 50 years, Bonpoint has celebrated childhood through exceptional craftsmanship and a world shaped by beauty, culture and imagination. Collaborating with MoMA felt like a natural fit,” said Gala Sarmini Kressmann, chief marketing and digital officer at Bonpoint.

“By bringing one of Claude Monet’s most iconic masterpieces to life in this capsule, we hope to inspire children to dream, explore and nurture their natural curiosity through art,” she said.

Following its acquisition last year by Chinese fashion conglomerate Youngor Group, Bonpoint celebrated its 50th anniversary by returning to the runway for the first time since 2019.

In the last year the company has raised its visibility through collaborations with Gigi Hadid’s cashmere brand guest in residence, French-Japanese fashion label Maison Kitsuné and carmaker Porsche.

Bonpoint is scheduled to unveil its spring 2027 collection on Oct. 3 during Paris Fashion Week.
