How to Fish receives more weapons, fish, and islands in The Islets update

On Sept. 28, Dazed Games released The Islets update, v1.1.0, which is How to Fish‘s first content update. This adds a few hours to the game, as players will have to discover several isles, fish species, weapons, and more. Additionally, players can unlock new achievements as they explore The Islets content.

In The Islets update, players will have to visit small islands to collect crab carcasses and glass bottles, which can be exchanged for a new in-game currency by talking to an NPC located on an isle with a fort, who wears a green robe with a hood. They sell a new weapon: a bow with base damage of 250. The bow’s draw distance can be upgraded by interacting with the quiver, while damage is improved through arrow upgrades.

This weapon might come in handy when taking out the new boss: the Manta. To challenge the Manta, players must locate the island with oil barrels. Chucking the barrel into the water will anger the creature and initiate the fight.

There are several new fish species with drip variants. Finding drip fish and putting them in the slot machine to get skins is one of the most exciting parts of the game. However, they are pretty rare. Thankfully, players can increase their chances of finding drip fish by going to an island that consists of various steep rocks, climbing to the top, and collecting the wishbone.
