Battlefield 6 Fans Suspect Image Is a Las Vegas Map Tease

Battlefield 6 players think they’ve discovered that one of the three maps coming in Season 5 is set in Las Vegas after Battlefield Studios posted an enigmatic teaser last week.

The team at EA outlined its plans to keep players coming back throughout 2026 last week after it pulled back the curtain to reveal a host of changes aimed at directly addressing fan feedback. While much larger multiplayer maps and a server browser are just the tip of the iceberg of what was officially revealed, some players have already set their sights on a single image that teased one of the maps launching toward the end of the year.

“Today, I can also confirm that, as a holiday surprise, we’ll be dropping a third map into Season 5,” Motive Studio executive producer Philippe Ducharme said in a video for the April 16 reveal while showing the first-look. “You’ll have to wait to learn about them, but I will say that the roadmap does offer a hint of where you’ll be fighting.”

The image shows what appears to be an asphalt road with a colorful puddle surrounded by loose bullets. Knee-jerk reaction in the community believed that the rainbow effect might be caused by a mixture of gasoline, but others have pointed out the shape in the middle of the water matches up with the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It’s hard to make out on its own, but side by side, it’s easy to see why players have come to this conclusion. The long shape of the sign mostly lines up with the shape in the puddle, and the yellow-and-white lights seem to match, too. Others have pointed out that Las Vegas isn’t exactly known for being a rainy city, but there’s always the possibility the liquid we’re seeing could have come from another source.

One player who says they live in the casino town pointed out that the orange beams on the left side of the screen may actually be a reflection of the Mandalay Bay resort and casino. The same poster notes that the right side of the image could be showing a reflection of the green neon of the MGM Grand.

BF Studios gave players very little to chew on, but many have settled on the idea that Las Vegas will serve as the location of one of the upcoming Season 5 maps for Battlefield 6. Others aren’t so convinced, with other popular theories revolving around a return for the Siege of Shanghai and Dawnbreaker maps from Battlefield 4, or even a new map set in New York City.

With Season 3 set to add Railway to Golmud and Cairo Bazaar in May and Season 4 set to follow with Wake Island and Tsuru Reef in July, it will likely be some time before we see what Season 5 has in store for the fall. Although the late 2026 content update will break tradition by adding three maps when it launches for Battlefield 6, BF Studios warned that players shouldn’t expect three maps per season going forward.

“We still plan to stay with the current strategy we have, which is adapting our season and our seasonal structure to meet the experiences that we want our players to play,” Ripple Effect executive producer Ryan McArthur said during a Q&A session that IGN attended last week.

Battlefield 6 launched for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S October 10, 2025.
