Bank of Canada Cancels Rate Decision Embargo Due to Strike


The Canadian economy contracted at an 0.1% annualized pace in the first quarter, compared with the bank’s 1.5% estimate. It was the second straight quarterly contraction in real gross domestic product, prompting recession fears, though officials and most economists have rejected that label.
