Russell reduced teammate Kimi Antonelli’s championship lead to 66 points with his triumph at last weekend’s Azerbaijan GP. That win suggests the race for motorsport’s most prestigious prize may not yet be a formality.
This marks the first time in nine years the much-loved Sepang International Circuit has appeared on the F1 schedule. The 3.44-mile track on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur has been reintroduced as a replacement for the Bahrain Grand Prix that was set to take place at the Sakhir track back in April, but was canceled due to the war in the Middle East.
The Bahrain GP in Malaysia takes place at the Sepang International Circuit in Sepang, Selangor, on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m. MYT local time in Malaysia. That makes it a 3 a.m. ET or 12 a.m. PT start in the US and Canada, and for viewers in the UK, it’s 8 a.m. BST. Australian F1 fans are looking at a 6 p.m. AEST start.
