Aya Al-Shalchi lands new role in jobs and families minister’s office

This week’s roundup of staffing changes on Parliament Hill.

Aya Al-Shalchi is moving up in Jobs and Families Minister Patty Hadju’s office.

She took the role of deputy director of policy in January, after spending the previous 20 months in the office as a senior policy advisor.

Al-Shalchi joined the jobs’ minister team back in 2023, after a brief stint as director of operations with the transport minister’s office and three-and-a-half years in the Prime Minister’s Office, working as an advisor (and later senior advisor) for appointments.

Before that, she worked in the international trade diversification minister’s office.
