AU Deals: Save $2,400 on Gigabyte’s Aorus Master 16 Gen 2 Gaming Laptop

The second generational update of the Gigabyte Aorus Master 16 has received a massive price drop in Australia, dropping $2,400 off its original asking price down to a very palatable A$6,599. Bringing together AMD’s flagship 3D V-Cache processing with NVIDIA’s flagship RTX 50-series graphics in an impressively thin frame for its specs, this machine is unapologetically built for high-refresh 1440p/4K gaming and heavy-duty creative work. Keeping the form factor tight whilst bringing the weight as low as possible (approx. 2.3kg).

What’s Inside?

The heart of the Aorus Master 16 Gen 2 is built for zero-compromise gaming. Pushing up to 230W total system power in Turbo Mode, it pairs high-end desktop power with sophisticated thermal efficiency:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D Processor: Featuring 16 cores, up to 5.4 GHz max turbo, a massive 145W TDP, and128MB of 3D V-Cache, this CPU decimates frame-rate bottlenecks in demandingopen-world titles and sim games.
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 LaptopGPU: Running up to 175W, the RTX 5090 deliversnext-level graphics fidelity, Loaded with DLSS 4.5, NVIDIA Studio drivers, andMax-Q optimisations, keeping power delivery efficient.

Built for Durability and Portability

With gaming laptops, high performance usually means a heavy brick. While it’s no ultrabook, Gigabyte has engineered the Aorus Master 16 Gen 2 into an ultra-slim 19mm chassis with a Magnesium-Aluminium Alloy construction. The frame aims to offer exceptional rigidity while maintaining a light, premium feel, and a 17% size reduction compared to the previous generation without sacrificing thermal overhead.

Audio, Video and the 240Hz OLED Display

Whether you’re playing competitive shooters or watching cinematic single-player campaigns, the 16-inch WQXGA Next-Gen SDC OLED display is a complete showstopper: A blazing 240Hz refresh rate combined with an ultra-fast 0.2ms response time gives you a crisp, blur-free edge in fast-paced action. Combine this with a HDR 1000 certification and an advertised 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and this display should deliver deep blacks, and ultra-accurate colours.

On the speaker front, the AORUS Master brings a 4-Speaker Dual-Force Setup to deliver a deep, clear, and punchy audio that fills the room without distortion With full support for industry-leading HDR and spatial audio standards Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos.

Massive horsepower, an industry-leading OLED panel, and a sleek 19mm chassis make the Gigabyte AORUS MASTER 16 GEN 2 a strong contender in the high-end gaming laptop market. At A$6,599 (down from A$8,999), this elite-tier rig is suddenly far more accessible for competitive, space-conscious gamers, as well as digital creators. While we haven’t reviewed this latest build yet here at IGN, last year’s model earned an 8/10 from writer Chris Coke in our complete review.
