Apple’s $1,999 iPhone Duo Could Cost You a Lot Less With This AT&T Deal

Save up to $1,200 with trade-in: The iPhone Duo preorders are nearly here and AT&T is already offering a way to save big on Apple’s new foldable. New and existing customers can get up to $1,200 off with an eligible trade-in. The Duo opens for preorder on Oct. 16 and goes on sale Oct. 23.

The iPhone Duo starts at a whopping $1,999 and takes a compact approach to the foldable phone design, with a passport-size form. It has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen. In her first impressions, CNET reviewer Abrar Al-Heeti praised the nano-texture finish, saying it helps minimize the crease and reduce reflections.

Up to $1,200 off with trade-in

To get the full $1,200 discount, you’ll need to trade in an eligible smartphone worth at least $230 and purchase the iPhone Duo on an installment plan totaling at least $2,000. You’ll also need to activate it on AT&T’s Premium 2.0 plan. The discount is applied as 36 monthly bill credits, so it isn’t an instant price cut at checkout.

If you’re switching carriers, AT&T will also offer up to $800 to help pay off your existing device balance. That could make the move a little easier if you’re paying off your phone. Keep in mind that the exact savings depend on your device, plan and trade-in combination. And the online $200-off-per-line discount gives you another potential way to save.

Alternatives you might like

If you’re not keen on waiting for the iPhone Duo, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is worth a look. It offers a similar book-style foldable design and comparable dimensions. AT&T is offering up to $1,200 off with an eligible trade-in. If you want the same foldable style without waiting for Apple’s new phone to become available, the Fold 8 could be a solid alternative.
