Anne Hathaway Glows in Custom Prada for ‘The Odyssey’ NYC Premiere

Anne Hathaway continued her streak of impressive maternity style at the New York premiere of “The Odyssey” Tuesday night.

“The Devil Wears Prada” actress stepped out in a custom Prada gown. The dress featured a pleated champagne-colored floor-length skirt and a dazzling criss-cross crystal bodice. The full skirt was made for movement in a breezy stretch fabric.

The look, styled by Erin Walsh, was regal and elegant. The Grecian silhouette was perhaps a nod to Hathaway’s character Penelope, the fiercely loyal Queen of Ithaca from “The Odyssey.” Hathaway’s jewelry consisted of a silver set of cuffs and coordinating silver studs in the shape of snakes with emerald eyes. It is likely her jewels hail from Bulgari, for which she serves as an ambassador.

Hathaway’s formula for dressing during this press junket has remained consistent. Chosen styles are vaguely Greco-Roman and feminine, with maximalist details and boxy silhouettes. Ruffles, florals, and eye-catching colors seem to be common themes of the actresses’ looks, whether attending talk shows or walking red carpets.

Before walking the red carpet for “The Odyssey” New York premiere, Hathaway stopped by “Late Night With Seth Meyers” wearing a custom GapStudio dress created by Zac Posen. The off-white charmeuse bias-cut design featured fluid draping. The dress was overlaid with a sheer tunic tank, cut with clean, elongated lines for an airy aesthetic. She completed the ensemble with Aquazzura wedges.

“The Odyssey,” an adaptation of Homer’s epic poem, follows Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, and his years-long journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. The film, directed by Christopher Nolan, hits theaters Friday.
