The new Fire TV Stick 4K will be a little easier to set up than Amazon’s previous 4K streaming sticks since it no longer requires a power adapter. You can power the device directly from your TV’s USB port, like the updated entry-level Fire TV Stick Amazon launched earlier this year. The Fire TV Stick 4K, available starting today for $59.99, runs on Amazon’s refreshed TV OS and includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and Bluetooth Low Energy.

Amazon’s also simplifying its streaming stick lineup, which now includes four devices instead of five: the Fire TV Stick HD, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and Fire TV Cube. The new Fire TV Stick 4K is replacing Amazon’s earlier “Select” and “Plus” 4K streaming sticks.

A redesigned Fire TV Remote is launching alongside the new streaming stick, featuring a new asymmetrical shape and “more tactile controls.” The new remote is compatible with all Amazon Ember TVs and Fire TV streaming devices from 2019 onward. It will be available standalone for $14.99 and starts shipping late October. Amazon says it also plans to launch a “Plus” version of the new remote early next year, with an aluminum design, backlit buttons, and a “Find My Remote” feature.

Fire TV is getting a few software updates, as well, including an Alexa Plus Hub and an Alexa Plus integration in the Fire TV mobile app. Amazon says its AI “now draws on real-world context” like awards and events, helping it answer more complex prompts for show and movie suggestions. Amazon Music is also getting a new Fire TV app later this fall, with an Alexa Plus integration users can prompt for music and podcast recommendations.
