Alo is expanding its footwear category once again with the launch of its first ever boot.
Called the Malibu Boot, the new shoe by the Beverly Hills, Calif.-based fashion and wellness brand reimagines the popular post-surf silhouette, the Alo way, in two sizes, including a shorter version called the Malibu Low Boot.
Both models are made in suede and are lined with a soft wool-blend interior. Each shoe features a platform wedge, a recovery insole and a generous opening for easy pull-on. The Malibu Boot and Malibu Low will be available in Rich Chestnut, Espresso and Black colorways.
Abby Gordon, chief merchandising and design officer at Alo, told FN in an interview that the idea of the launch came from the company’s desire to “create that go-to boot you can easily slip on after a workout, for a coffee run or on a recovery day.”
“We’ve always designed beyond the studio — studio-to-street is really the cornerstone of our design philosophy, and footwear is an important part of completing that wardrobe,” Gordon noted. “The Malibu Collection brings the comfort and functionality people expect from Alo into a completely new footwear expression, but it’s also incredibly easy to style.”
In tandem with its new boot range, the company is launching the new Malibu Loafer. The classic slip-on mule-style shoe features a metal Alo logo detail on its upper band and is made of the same materials as the boot. The loafer will debut in a Rich Chestnut colorway.

“We love taking familiar wardrobe staples and asking what they could look and feel like through the Alo lens,” Gordon explained. “We did it with trousers — taking a category that historically felt quite structured and making it something incredibly easy to live in. The loafer presented a similar opportunity. You hear ‘loafer’ and typically think of something more traditional or dressed-up; we wanted to take that familiar shape and make it feel relaxed, comfortable and effortless.”
Since 2023, Alo has spent years building its footwear category launch by launch.
From multiple sneaker models — including recovery and trail running silhouettes — to premium leather ballet flats and sandals, the fashion and wellness brand has slowly built its footwear offering, and it’s still craving more.

In May 2023, the company debuted shoes with the launch of its Recovery Mode sneaker. One year later, the company debuted the Alo Runner, which launched in August 2024. And in July 2025, Alo dipped its feet into the low-profile footwear trend with the launch of the Sunset sneaker. Earlier this year in April, Alo expanded sneakers once more with the debut of it first trail sneaker.
For Gordon, Alo’s approach to footwear is all about address consumer needs.
“Because we have a lifestyle-first approach, deciding when, where, and how to expand is always very natural for us in all of our categories; footwear included,” the executive added. “We’re always thinking about how our customers move through their day, especially in those transitional moments—like meeting friends after class or fitting in a workout in the middle of the day. We look at what our customer needs, and then give it to her in a way that feels fashion-forward, elevated and uniquely Alo.”
Alo’s new Malibu Boot collection, which retails between $275 and $295, is now available at Alo.com and at Alo Sanctuaries worldwide.
