Alex Badia’s Six Must-haves for Fall


Call it a fashion reset.

For several seasons, luxury fashion has been obsessed with the machinery around the product — the celebrity, the spectacle, the event, the content, the endless storytelling. But the fall 2026 menswear collections seemed to be a return to clothes having the last word — with men looking for pieces that are worth buying, wearing and keeping. Thankfully!

This is not about the overused and boring concept of “quiet luxury,” at least not in the minimalist, logo-free sense we have come to know. It is something in between quiet and loud: luxury for people in the know. The secret is in the cut, the fabric, the construction and the details that someone who really cares about clothes will notice. Men can be incredibly obsessive over engineering details in clothes as much as they are in cars or watches — how a shoe is made, the weight of a wool trouser or the grain of a leather jacket. Craft still matters.

At the same time, men want to dress up again with a flair of classicism. They want clothes that make them feel confident and put together, but without returning to the rigid rules of traditional menswear. The suit remains, but tailoring is softer. Pleated trousers have room without becoming enormous. Knitwear can be the star. The Derby is challenging the loafer. And the bag, once a frontier in men’s dressing, is now simply part of the wardrobe.

These are investment pieces, but not precious ones. They have personality, edge and enough substance to earn their place. The idea is less about showing off and more about choosing well. And sometimes, true luxury is simply finding the best version of something you know you will want to wear for years.
