Talks of a Halloween-themed Air Jordan 5 first emerged in January and now, the first in-hand look at the new sneaker style has surfaced. 

Official e-commerce product images from JD Sports show the upcoming spooky season-inspired pair in all its details. While the original early renderings speculated that the shoe would use a black-and-orange colorway, the official look confirms a bold red shade in place of orange for a Black/Picante Red combination. 

The sneaker is built around a black suede upper with the spicy red shade appearing on the Air Jordan 5’s signature shark teeth midsole design, the visible Air unit, outsole Jumpman logo and on the inner tongue branding.

Also unique to the Halloween-themed pair is glow-in-the-dark embroidery bordering all of its outward branding including the tongue Jumpman logo, original-styled heel Nike Air stitching and Jordan’s personalized number 23. The sneaker’s translucent rubber outsole is also expected to feature a glow-in-the-dark treatment. Lastly, the style’s tongue and side TPU netting, which typically features a clear appearance, has been given a fully blacked-out look.

This Halloween-inspired Air Jordan 5 Retro Halloween is just one of many holiday-themed releases on the horizon from Nike, Inc.’s Jordan Brand. Christmas will receive the most attention, with new “Not Nice” Air Jordan 3s for adults and a kid’s-exclusive, Santa-themed Air Jordan 3 on the way. 

Jordan Brand has in years past released various Halloween-themed styles including grade school Air Jordan 1s, but the upcoming Air Jordan 5 will mark the first time the brand has leaned this much into the concept for adult-sized pairs. 

The Air Jordan 5 Retro Halloween will be released just ahead of the annual holiday on Oct. 17 in full family sizing from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers. The style code for men’s sizes is HQ7978-001 and they will retail for $220.
