Canadian flag carrier, Air Canada, has shared that it will utilize its new Airbus A321XLR on several trans-border routes from later this year, as reported by airline insider Ishrion Aviation on X. The Montreal-based airline has up to 30 of the type on order, with several already delivered, and has already announced plans to fly the aircraft to several European destinations from this summer.

Air Canada will utilize the long-haul capable aircraft on two services from Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL), and one from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), connecting the cities to California and Florida. Services to Los Angeles will take off from Montreal and Toronto in October and December, respectively, while services to Miami will debut in December.

Flights from the French-speaking city of Montreal will start first, with AC adding the A321XLR on up to 12 weekly flights from YUL to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) from October 25. These will then be complemented by the airline adding a daily service from Toronto to Los Angeles from December 15.

These services will complement the airline’s existing network to Los Angeles, including its multiple daily services from Toronto. Air Canada also serves Los Angeles with services from Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The only other airline to provide year-round flights between the two cities is Porter Airlines (PD), which flies its own Embraer E195-E2.

Onboard the A321XLR, Air Canada passengers are able to travel in two different classes, with 14 seats in lie-flat business class and 168 in economy.

A321XLR Flights From Montreal To Miami

In addition to the airline utilizing the aircraft on services to Los Angeles, AC also plans to schedule the type on its services to Miami International Airport (MIA). These services, as per Ishrion Aviation, are noted to operate just once a week on December 18 and 25th. These will complement the existing services already offered by AC to Miami, as the airline predominantly flies under Air Canada rouge from Montreal to Miami.
