Adidas Tokyo ‘Orange Tiger’ & ‘Green Leopard’ Release Date

Just when it seemed as if Adidas’ animal-printed classic sneakers had already peaked last year, the brand is doubling down on the exotic looks for 2026. With popular collaborator Wales Bonner giving the sportswear company’s Gazelle Indoor a rattlesnake makeover in their latest collection, it seems that the patterned pairs aren’t going away, they’re merely evolving.

Days after “The Devil Wears Prada 2” star Anne Hathaway was photographed in a zebra print Adidas Tokyo style, even more spotted and striped colorways are beginning to surface. The Tokyo model will soon receive a new orange tiger stripe variation in Yellow/Gold Metallic/Core Black (style code IH6638) along with a green leopard in Screaming Green/Silver Metallic/Core Black (style code IH6637). Both styles feature pony hair uppers covered in their respective prints paired with silver three stripes branding and signature X heel overlay.

Of Adidas’ numerous low-profile, slim-soled sneakers, the Tokyo is among the slimmest. The model was originally introduced in 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics as a track-and-field shoe. It’s even slimmer and less structured than the brand’s enduring Samba sneaker, which is also set to receive a green leopard look of its own.

While animal print sneakers aren’t unique to Adidas, there is perhaps no athletic footwear label who’s made the most of the trend the way the Herzogenaurach, Germany-based company has. Patterns have ranged from bold to subtle and have covered a variety of the brand’s 1960s and ‘70s shoes.

The availability for these new Adidas Tokyo styles is staggered, with some retailers, such as Spain’s SVD, already stocking the pairs online. Meanwhile, Adidas’ Japanese e-commerce store is advertising an April 23 launch date for the orange tiger colorway, which should signal wider availability soon. U.S. retail pricing for the premium pairs is $100.
