Out of nowhere, Netflix and Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games announced a new The Conjuring game, and it’s out next week.
The Conjuring: Unspoken releases on October 13 through Netflix, so you don’t need any dedicated hardware or controller to play it.
The game is an “interactive paranormal investigation” experience where players decide how the story progresses based on the dialogue options they choose. Players use their phone to walk through the fictional Red Lion Inn to search for clues about “things that go bump in the night,” Netflix said.
You play as demonologist Francesca Noakes, and you’ll use an electromagnetic field reader, an infrared camera, and spirit box to hunt for ghosts.
Netflix said you don’t need to know anything about The Conjuring to enjoy Unspoken, but people familiar with the series will get “a lot more from the experience.”
“There are a few familiar faces that pop up in the game, and knowing the backstory adds to the overall impact,” Netflix said.
Unspoken will be available on Netflix on October 13. It was made in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, whose parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, was just acquired by Paramount/Skydance.
