Travelling somewhere you cannot access by road, we enjoyed boarding the sleeper train to Corrour, one of the remotest stations in Scotland …

… and one of best ways to visit Loch Ossian.

Walking down the track towards the loch, we paused for a moment to look back at where we’d come from …

… before the station disappeared from view.
Walking in an area not accessible by car, you feel how the landscape and estate tracks are settled in natural harmony …

… and how the Loch Ossian Youth Hostel blends in with the trees and hillside on the nearest end of the Loch.
I wouldn’t describe myself as youth, said the silver-haired man emerging from the hostel with a cane, but my son has stayed here and said I would love it too.

He was a great story-teller and someone we could have listened to for hours …

… but after enjoying a beautiful walk around Loch Ossian (see our Loch Ossian post), tea and refreshments were waiting for us at the dog-friendly café at the station.
Wishing you all a blessed Sunday and a peaceful new week,
with love from Xenia xxx
