The reports were correct: Forza Horizon 6 has been delayed to 2027 on PS5. The PlayStation version had been expected this year – the PC and Xbox versions launched in May – but it will now launch in January.
Specifically, the PS5 version launches 26th January, Playground announced on the Forza website – with the option of early access from 21st January if you splash for a Premium Edition of the game, which costs an eye-watering £110.

21st January is also when the game’s first paid expansion arrives, which will be included with the Premium Edition, thank god. There will also be a free update released that day for everyone else, though there’s no further details about either release yet.
The PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 is said to manage 30FPS at 4K in the game’s Quality mode – visible in a pre-order trailer, apparently – and 60FPS in the game’s Performance mode. And because cross-platform play and cross-saves are supported, you can play with other people on other platforms, and play on other platforms if you want. All user-made stuff like liveries and tuning setups are cross-platform too.
We awarded Forza Horizon 6 – an open-world arcade racer set in Japan – a glittering five stars in our review. “I think Horizon 6 is the highlight in a pantheon of already great racing experiences,” Dom wrote in their review, “and shows Playground Games as a developer at its peak … . It’s taken 14 years to get here, but I think Forza Horizon 6 finally delivers on the promises the original game made, way back in October 2012.”
