Taylor Swift is bringing her star power to one of Hollywood’s most coveted nights.
The singer will perform at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala on Oct. 17 in Los Angeles, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures announced.
The evening will honor filmmaker and composer John Carpenter and actors Colman Domingo and Charlize Theron, bringing together leading figures from film, fashion and entertainment.
“Taylor is an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world,” said Amy Homma, director and president of the Academy Museum and Academy Collection. “We are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema.”
Presented in partnership with Rolex, a founding supporter of the Academy Museum, the black-tie fundraiser supports the museum’s exhibitions, film screenings and educational programming.
The gala is cochaired by Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw.
This year’s host committee includes Jessica Alba, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Hudson, Greta Lee, Demi Moore, Olivia Munn, Teyana Taylor, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, among others.
Ahead of the gala, Theron participated in a conversation with the museum’s Teen Council alongside a screening of “Mad Max: Fury Road,” while Carpenter hosted four nights of film screenings tied to the museum’s new exhibition, “The Horror Show.”
The annual event has become a fixture on L.A.’s social calendar, attracting a mix of Hollywood actors, music figures, industry executives, fashion designers and other creatives.
